Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Crewfolk ("we", "us", "our") operates the Crewfolk platform at crewfolk.com — a pay-per-lead marketplace connecting homeowners with home service contractors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use our platform, whether as a contractor or a homeowner.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us.

2. Information we collect

From contractors (registered accounts):

  • Name, email address, and password (at registration)
  • Business name, trade type, and service cities (during profile setup)
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store raw card data)
  • Lead acceptance history and wallet transaction records
  • Communications with our support team

From homeowners (lead form submissions):

  • Name, phone number, and email address
  • Service address or city
  • Job description, timeline, and service type

Automatically collected:

  • IP address and general location
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs (via standard analytics)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the platform — match homeowner requests to contractors, deliver lead notifications, process wallet transactions
  • Verify contractor accounts and manage access
  • Process payments and maintain transaction records
  • Send lead notifications, account updates, and service communications
  • Respond to support requests and lead disputes
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Improve the platform through aggregate usage analysis
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use homeowner contact details for any purpose other than delivering them to the contractor who accepted the lead.

4. How we share your information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • With the accepting contractor: When a contractor accepts a lead, they receive the homeowner's name, phone number, email, location, and job description.
  • Payment processors: We use third-party payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to handle billing. They receive payment details necessary to complete transactions, under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers: We use third-party tools for email delivery, analytics, and infrastructure. These providers access data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Crewfolk, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: If Crewfolk is acquired or merges with another company, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data retention

We retain contractor account data for as long as the account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Lead records and transaction histories are retained for a minimum of 3 years for billing and dispute resolution purposes.

Homeowner lead data (name, contact, job details) is retained in our systems for up to 12 months after lead submission, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and access controls that limit which staff can view personal data. Payment data is handled by PCI-compliant processors and we do not store raw card numbers.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that set their own cookies to provide aggregate usage data.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the platform may not function correctly without them.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability (receiving your data in a structured format)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

Crewfolk is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
